"And [God] Who provides seed for the sower and bread for eating will also provide and multiply your [resources for] sowing and increase the fruits of your righteousness [which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness, and charity]."
II Corinthians 9:10 AMP

One crisp Fall night in November, I was wearing one of my favorite pair of earrings to an evening program at my church. The earrings were large, circular, lace-patterned, gold-tone clips with several large clear Austrian crystals... and I was wearing the matching pin. The set compliemented my outfit perfectly. So much so that a young woman, who was a visiting psalmist, told me of her admiration of them as I greeted her. I said, "If you like them, you can have them." She responded, "Don't play with me, cause I will take them if you offer them to me." I asked her to allow me to wear them for the rest of the evening and then at the end of the activities I would pass them on to her. True to my word as soon as the closing benediction was given, I found my way to her and sowed my favorite jewelry. In return, she gave me a hug. She and I were both pleased. She and I knew God was at work.

Now, to people who do not know about the law of sowing and reaping, this could seem like a foolish thing to do. But to those who know what God has to say about giving, you understand that my giving, though sacrificial, will produce a return greater than my investment. I love to give ... it pleases God, it pleases and suprises the people of God (I can't tell you how many pairs of earrings I have given away to people who say "Oh, I love those earrings!"), and it paves the way for God to get more seed into my hands! The morning after I gave my earrings away, someone gave me a check for $50 ... and I turned around and signed the check over to another person. The returns on my giving are not always so immediate, but the returns are always more than I expect. God always finds a way to get earrings and money into my hands. What are you willing to sow today? As you sow, trust God for more seed.
