But This I will recall and therefore have I hope and expectation; it is because of the Lord's mercy and loving kndness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not.
Lamentations 3: 21,22 AMP

What's on your mind?
It is a struggle, sometimes, to not become overwhelmed by all the bad news in the times that we live in. Take your pick ... the unrest in the Middle East, the latest Amber Alert child, the friend who was laid-off work last month and is still not employed, the family member who is just a step away from returning back to the street life she emerged from just two short years ago ... take your pick, the world is filled with bad news. And just when we are at the point of thinking that tings can not get any worse, it does!! So how is a person supposed to stay sane in all this insanity?

Take a cue from the words found in the book of Lamentations. In the midst of a living nightmare the prophet Jeremiah states, "But this I will recall ... His tender mercies fail not". Talk about a key to comfort, this is it.

Troubles will find its way into the life of every Christian; but we need not be overwhelmed ... even if it seems like all the trouble is happening at once. How? by choosing to recall, not the trouble that we are in, but the faithfulness of God. Does this mean that we should just ignore the "bad". No! But it does mean that just as God has delivered us before; He can and will do it again.
